Willoughby Historical Society

Willoughby is home to several historic and still active cemeteries with graves and memorials dating back to the early 1800s.The historical society hosts themed tours of the cemeteries at various times during the year. In 2024, we hope to tour the historic SOM Center Road Cemetery (between the BP Station and the I-90 off-ramp), Willoughby Memorial Gardens on Lakeshore Boulevard, and the Sharpe Avenue Cemetery.

We are also in the first stages of planning to clean and repair old headstones and to memorialize the unmarked Babies' Graves and Potter's Fields.
